I'm not sure if this is an appropiate post or not, but...

I have a social network website. I'm trying to get memebers, so I decided to go through a third party service and pay people to sign up and make at least one post in my forums.

My question is, what is the LEAST amount of money you would be willing to receive for joining a site and making just one post?

Any feedback would be apperciated.

Wow dude! Not trying to sound bad, but I have to tell you from a business stand-point, that's not a wise idea at all! noway

WHY would you want to do that??? There are hundreds or even thousands of sites like that..and you would be paying people to go to your site? If you want to just give money away, go by yourself something with it, you'll get more out of it.

If you have something that is really cool and unique to offer the internet world, you won;t have to pay anyone anything...you will get paid! Otherwise you basically have nothing but a pocket drain.

There is a new "Internet World" (it's an Intranet) coming out later this year..its in beta now...will be the next generation of the "Internet" for the most part. So you may want to bookmark it for later this year...

not sure what you mean...are you trying to get people to go once in hopes they will like it and stay...and support the advertisers?

Alot of sites do that at first, it's not every member I would pay, only a certain amount until a community has developed.

I want the main focus to be on the community. I want to get people to join and make atleast one post in hopes that they will return and make more posts and enjoy the community.

But, What would someone have to pay you to join and make just one post?

I don't know - I never was paid to go to a site. Why can't you just blog it and entice people to go over that way?

I'm trying different methods. The paid members is just one of many methods I'm trying. I'm just not sure what would be a fair payment.

The blog is something I'm working on.

I just don't see it happening UNLESS you have something really unique to offer a user.

Since there are millions of sites now, you are lost in an ocean of places that have everything you have to offer and more (in most cases)

Then on top of that, you have to worry about "security" issues, because if it becomes big, then the hackers will try to play with you. And also be careful on legal ends..that can be a nightmare in the states alone.

I am NOT trying to discourage you bro, its just simple facts you have to face. I have been in the industry 17+ years now. have done a lot of "firsts". it can be done, but there is a lot to think about and do to make a good place that people really want to go to and use.

Good luck! drinker
