Sometimes, I have absolutely no patience and when I lose it, I feel terrible. My son just absolutely refused to get up for school this morning and 9 minutes before the bus comes, he's still sleeping and I started yelling. Which made him even more determined not to get up. He finally left, swearing he's never coming home. I have no idea if he even made the bus.
Mornings like this, I wish I was an alcholic

My son is like that so throughout the years I have learned a few tricks
Ice water in water guns is effective Placing hand in cold water so that he has to either move and get up or pee the bed Playing music that he hates in his room |

I've tried everything, after a while it gets be just a battle of wills and because of his issues, he's known to get physical. I don't go there, trying to teach him there's better ways, and trying to teach him he doesn't have to be like his dad.

Its hard Suz, you will get through it. Plus get the ex to back you up on decisions about him being the one responsible for getting up for school

Oh please, where do you think he learns this and why he thinks it's ok? His dad's one of those jump out of bed 2 minutes before he has be somewhere, screaming at everyone along the way like it's their fault and throwing things and punching walls because he's frustrated. That's what boo did this morning, screaming at me and blaming me because HE wouldn't get up. I do everything but dress him in the morning to make it easier on him. And then when I lose my patience and yell, jeez, you'd think I beat him or something.
