Most of the time when I e-mail someone first, he will read it, but then he won't send me a reply. I hate when they do that!mad At least tell me you aren't interested, or something! I feel like that is inconsiderate, just to ignore the mails.mad
how do you know if they've been read?

Hi, I am new here. Could you tell me how you know if they have viewed your profile? I did not see anything here that would show me that info.
Thanks,
HL

It just goes to show that their not worth putting your effort into. Sometimes, self-ads online can be deceiving but don't get discouraged by one. Like what everyone is saying, totally move on because there's too much people here to waste your time on one. Take care and continue 2 have a great week.

AND FOR PEOPLE THAT'S ASKING HOW TO VIEW MESSAGES SENT TO AN INDIVIDUAL, GO UNDER "MAIL" AND THEN CLICK ON THE "SENT" TAB AND ON THE RIGHT SIDE, THERE'S A COLUMNE ON THE RIGHT INDICATING, "READ" AND IF THERE'S A CHECK MARK AT THE MESSAGE YOU JUST SENT, THAT MEANS THE OTHER PARTY HAD READ IT ALREADY. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS

How can a person you've never met bother you? Do you get personally offended when someone cuts you off in traffic or cuts in line at the coffeeshop? Think of it this way, many people run through life with tunnelvision on. The impersonality of Internet dating magnifies this.

Of course, these statements take into account you have a full and complete profile and your e-mail message is not a "mass mailing" and clearly is intended for the reader with personalized touches and specific intent. Not just wanting a response, that is.

The man I'm involved with now... I used to read his posts all the time and wanted to e-mail him for a few weeks but never did. I added him to my friends list, but my parameters blocked him from mailing me. After about a week I sent him a mail telling him how certain I was that I was missing out, as he lives 2000 miles away. Turns out I was missing out, big time! He just went home after spending a week here with me and I cannot wait to see him again. So my point is, make it personal. But don't take it personal.

Good post babe. Altho I DO take it personal when someone cuts me off .... oh wait ..................... that's ME doing the cutting laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Not responding can be due to their being busy-
but not responding is just rude.
I answer all e-mail. Its the polite thing to do.

Absolutely. I answer all my e-mail too. IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT, PEOPLE.

It's not as hard as, oh, I don't know, let's say, writing a profile with more than eleven words in it....

Now I'm gonna go see if I can find something wrong with the banner ads....

Thanks for the compliment, Fade. And don't we all cut ppl off once in awhile? How about those ppl that drive 65 in the left lane? And are parallel with the car in the right lane?

Pardon if I might add my two cents here.

She did make it personal, but not so personal, so as to look like I was being stalked, or that she thought she knew things about me which she couldn't possibly know. Those things did play in her favor.
Not to mention her seeming to be a very striking, well spoken and intelligent young woman with a sense of humor (I had no idea! The reality far exceeded the fantasy). All those things had my attention, despite my not really being in the market or looking for anything beyond friendship.
That being said.. I have not been struck stupid or insane recently either. So 'not replying' was entirely out of the question.

I have however received a few emails that I would not reply to..Some that just got lost in the shuffle too...

I recently received one as a first contact, that literally led me to believe any interaction on my part was entirely unneeded. She had me all figured out, knew my motives, and my level of devotion ~ from halfway across the country, without so much as a word outa me!

Why bother?

That's why I quit e-mailing anybody first. Hey, if I wanted to be ignored, I could have stayed married.

doesn't bother me.....if I really was worried about it I would mail them one more time and ask them what is up with no reply...too many on here to be upset about someone who obviously doesn't care to chat....

That only happened to me and it was a response to their e-mails. I always respond.
