I had one of those, only...she wasn't a manx...just a big cat. When we first got her she weighed 32lbs, but we got her down (eventually) to around 24lbs by letting our kittens play a game we liked to call "biddy ball".

Aliza (henceforth known as...the biddy) was around 8 or 9 years old when we got her and she hated everything and everyone...especically kittens. So Jello and Weeble (our brother/sister kittens who were around 8 or 9 months at the time) liked to chase her through the house to the stairs and one would sit at the top and the other the bottom and trap her in the middle....then, they would chase that poor biddy up and down and up and down the stairs until she finally would leap over the railing and go hide somewhere for the rest of the day. Biddy ball was played a lot, and she lost that weight reaaal quick!

(You should have seen her when she first got to our house, her stomach was so big it dragged on the ground and she had to straddle the thing to walk...she waddled like a duck when she walked laugh laugh laugh )
