Topic: Printer Spooler Not Running | |
---|---|
I'm trying to get my printer to work. It worked fine one day, then not the next. It says Printer Spooler not running. It asks me if I want to start it. I say yes. IT runs through the installation and says it has been installed and updated. Then it says I can't print because, "printer spooler is not running".
When I looking it up in the help directory, it gives me links to RegCure. Well, the free download just says how many things it could fix, if I wanted to buy it. It says it is 29.99 and then when you click to go purchase it, it is suddenly 39.99. Go figure. But will a registry cleaner fix the spool problem or not, in reality. And is 40 dollars a reasonable price or not. I really need that printer working. I need to print out two copies of my resume for an interview I have Tuesday. |

I am not much of a computer whiz and I do not know if a registry cleaner will solve your problem, but my registry cleaner when installed found 625 errors and fixed every one of them. But you do not have to pay a cent for it. There are a number of free registry cleaners available.

If all else failes, you can get a new printer for less that $40 at your local Wal-mart. |

I had a great printer. It is also a scanner, so I can scan in images I want to make into cross stitch patterns. And to scan in photos, and many other things.
I suppose, with the photos, it isn't such a big deal now that I've a digital camera. And any single use camera's I use I can get a cd of photos if I need to. If it is the same price as the cleaner that may or may not fix the issue, I could get the new printer. It would have discs with it. Whereas the computer I got from dell was already loaded and I didn't get a disc in case I needed to reload. I just have that repair file on the computer. I suppose I could run to walmart later tonight, if I have too. |

It is worth a shot if you can get Dell online and explain the problem to them. |

I can't anymore. My warranty ran out on December 22nd. Go figure. I can't get anywhere unless I want to pay, and I have to pay before I even tell them what is going on. So if I pay and they tell me there is nothing they can do, I'm SOL. I can't even get anywhere when I call in because my service number is expired. It won't even let me get to anyone to ask why I never got any reinstall discs with the computer and printer. I don't want to pay to talk to someone to ask why I never got things I ought to have gotten with the computer.

That is so true Moon! They should have sent you discs for everything that was installed on your Dell. I would not let them get away with trying to charge you for just asking why you did not get the discs, something that was yours to begin with.

Strangely enough, this also happened with my Gateway. I thought I made sure I had all my dell discs after that. But there seem to be three I should have had that are not there. I thought maybe I did something with them... but I had them all in a little box together, just so I wouldn't lose any of them.

well Moon, sometimes when you know you are right about something, it pays to stand up for yourself and be forceful. I know I would get ahold of Dell and I would not ask them, I would definitely demand that they send me what is rightfully mine. Show them that you will not let it go and that they owe you those discs.

DON'T use those horrible "registry cleaners'..!!
Go to a DOS prompt (start-run-CMD) Type 'net start spooler' Try printing again Also, what kind of printer? And...do you have a PDF 'writer' installed? |
