What a day this was...I am truly struck with emotion right now. I had to take my daugher for allergy test today. She is only 7 and is quite the trooper. Although, they had to do 38 injections into her back today, one by one! The torture, the crying, the pain. It was unbearable..The look in her eyes when they were doing it will stick in my mind forever. Most of you will say "it was for her good" and as I agree yes it was...

But, this Doctor was horribe, once he started and then started talking to us, there was no heartfelt there from him. I got the impression it was about the money because he just wanted to keep doing more and more and more, and she didnt need it. I ended it as soon as I felt that, All to find out her allergies arent severe. Poor child suffered a bad day, and Dad didnt do much better either...

poor kid is she airight now? frown

Yes, thank you!..She is better and with her mom tonight. I get her back tommorow...I took her to get a Bananna Milkshake afterwards and that helped. It was just the heat of the moment that was truly upsetting...

I feel for you, i just hope youre daughter feels better, and these doctors seem like propel assholes.

I agree, I am looking at other options online as we speak

Yes some doctors have really bad bed side manners!
It is so hard to see our children go through these things!
If you feel funny about this doc- you might want a second opinion on your daughters health- bring those tests results
with you- so she does'nt have to go through that again.

For you: drinker

Do you know what she is allergic too?

Cats, wheat, very small amount to string beans, and dust is a given.

Yeah..my daughter is allergic to cats too..which was bad..cause she was thinking she was going to have to get rid of her cat..which upset her even more. She takes medication now for them and seems to be doing much better...and yeah..dust is a given ...

She has two awesome cats with me that she just adores, and two at her moms, and when she heard that she was allergic to cats she got pretty upset thinking the same thing. They gave me 30 days supply of SIngulair to see how it works

I am sorry to hear you both had to go through all the pain and the doctor not showing any sort of caring about how the patient and parent felt. I had to go thru the allergy test when I was 7 years old to present. I am alergic to animals and grasses and pollens. I had over 50 shots and pokes in my back. I hope everything goes better : )

Get rid of that doctor  Next time if her allergy attacks go to a better physician, may be a female, she could be finer happy

I have no kids and never took a child to a doctor but just the other day my bro took my lil dog to the vet clinic for grooming and I was surprised when my dog got back his body was reddish, looked like he's got bruises everywhere and I found out he's got wounds  poor dogbrokenheart

The only allergy medicine that works for me Allegra. I can only hope that I will out grow my allergies but I know that wont happen. I get to take another test here this spring. I hope that you get a second opinon and that this doctor is more professional and caring than this doctor you both went and saw.

That would be rough, even though it was a good thing, she's going to remember the pain, but she will also remember that you were there with her, comforting her, and how much better she felt knowing that her dad was there for her when she needed him.
