I didn't fall into killing the wrong people, I brought up points that could be used to say "I don't want to"...obviously that missed it's mark, sorry I will leave this topic now.

although, because I haven't experienced taking orders that might make me question my beliefs and self first hand its hard for me to say if I wont change how I feel when that time comes..

I do applaud people who stand up for what they believe in though, especially when it comes with a great deal of controversy (as long as it isn't something incredibly extreme or completely immoral).. I remember reading a few stories about some military officers refusing orders because they thought the war was wrong.. If they feel strongly enough to face a court martial and jail time then I don't think they are cowards at all.. Just standing up for what they believe in.. Kinda reminds me of the man who had a birthday yesterday! =p

that soldier follows orders so all of us can have the freedom to sit in front of our computers and do this. they give their life for us and this country. if every soldier said no to any order no matter how stupid where would we be now. was i afraid when i was in. hell yes but i was still ready to give my life for your freedom and my country. any soldier that does not follow orders is not a soldier, he is a problem and a danger to his entire platoon

As a soldier when I signed my contracts, I gave my life to the Army...Im happy that I have a career that is going to take me places. Yes sometimes my orders are stupid to me, but people depend on me becuase what may seem stupid to me may save someone's life , The soldiers creed/warrior ethos...
My boyfriend is Infantry and his job is major stress unlike mine, I'm a paralegal, Jag Corps. His buddies depend on him for their life and they would give their life for him...The military life is not for everyone it's a whole different mindset....
