Dena gave me the foreground of this and wanted me to rearrange it with the style I do...I myself, think it's my best one. Hope ya'll like it as well.
The Rocking Chairs I am in a beautiful dream And I saw a set of rocking chairs, On a porch, that was swept clean And potted plants, sitting on there. Nothing was in between them And close as they could be, Looking out upon the lake A beautiful sunset to see. Two elderly people, walk out the door It making a creaking sound, He took her lovingly, by the hand To the chairs to sit down. She wore a crocheted shawl She had made through the years, Many things her fragile hands made Children, grandchildren, those little dears. He covered her, ever so gently With an old worn out quilt, Wrapping her, from the many memories To make the evening complete, She placed a kiss, gently on his cheek Before he took his seat. He took her hand into his As they rocked back and forth, Staring out upon the sunset On that expanded porch. They never once rocked out of rhythm As they strolled down memory lane, Smiliing, loving and in content Looking out, upon their domain. I imagine them, still sitting there Two old people still in love, Rocking away, where time stands still Waiting to be called home, up above. I felt so loved, when I woke up Wondered, how I knew their faces, The rocking chairs on the porch And of the beautiful places. Then I remembered, that wonderful smile That I loved to see, It belonged, to the man I love Who was sent here to me. I felt so content in knowing What is to become of me and you, To grow old together, and be happy Every day I am with you. |
