they want an honest man who is also kind. it is helpful if they are good at expressing themselves. they do not want a liar but they also do not want someone who is going to call them names. believe it or not, this is not mutually exclusive. honest!

There are different types of honesty, gentlemen.. There is the type you use when you want to be heard... and there is the type you use when you want to hurt. Which really is not honesty..it's being passively aggressive and manipulative. The truth may be the same, but the delivery is dependent on your motive. For instance foresight. Guess my motive between these two sentences. 'You might look better in a blue hoody.' 'That red hoody makes you look a little gay.' Get my point?

If I ask you if I look fat, you better damn well tell me the truth! Cuz I don't want to go out looking fat, I'm short, I can't afford to look fat, it makes me seem shorter. And if I find out I did look bad/fat/trashy/whatever and you didn't tell me, there'd be hell to pay rather than if you just told me I looked bad and I was upset for a minute or two until I changed again.
