I would highly recommend Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and any of her writings on the philosophy of Objectivism. She has a unique and refreshing take on the whole concept of selfishness as an integral part of life.

Have you read her first one, "We the Living"? Written in 1931, I believe. Some of the elements of "Atlas" are already there, albeit in embryonic form. Just amazing stuff. I'm reading her "Romantic Manifesto" now -- it's about the role of art in society. |
