If he could see

If Dr. Martin Luther Kind could see us here today
what would be the eloquent words he would say?
I am sure he would still talk of love and peace
through tolerance and knowledge to end the breach

If he could see his beloved human race
and the hate and barriers still in place
Would he shake his head at so much time
that passed with no end to the sick rhyme?

What would be his words to us?
Would he continue to trust
the human nature of love and respect
that he was sure we all would get?

If Dr. Martin Luther King could see you today
what would be the words to you he would say?
With a loving hand he would place on you
the words of love and respect would then ensue.
