why does everyone think its strange for a 24 year old not to want kids?

I dont find it strange. I understand completely. I'm 30yrs old,never had any kids and I have always wondered why so many people have kids.

well....I never wanted a kid either...but accidents happen and here she is...I would not change her for the world....she is truely a blessing!

Waiting til I was married and almost 34 when the first of 2 came along WAS PERFECT.... wouldn't change it for the world ...AND can still out skate my 16 yr old son ( drives him MENTAL ) ....so nothing wrong with it at all ...

i think its great that you know what you do and do NOT want
-and if the judgements of mere busy-bodies mattered the world would be wildly different

now wouldnt it ?

if ppl bother you in the future,simply tell them its a private issue and not up for discussion
-or remind them that they are not an important enough FRIEND to discuss the issue with

some of my favorites go away lines :
"what was your name again ?" "where are YOUR children ?"
"gossip running dry ?"

and the ever popular "thanks mom !"
*if said to actual mom then walk away*

a pretty universal deterent is
"thank you for your opinion"
-then promptly turn your back to them and walk off

i realise some ppl cant handle even a hint of conflict,in this case realeasing a heavy *sigh*
-then excusing yourself can equally get you dislodged from them

and finally,as i tell everybody
-the only opinion that matters is yours

Nothing wrong with NOT wanting kids, at least you are honest about what you don't want. My guess why anyone would wonder why a young female would NOT want kids is because women are that nuturing kind of human and for so many years woman have kids, it's just what they do.

Well it's truly good to know that you don't then the one's that think they did and end up finding out that they didn't and have left in the trash some were or worst find dead

theres nothing wrong not having kids either. its easier to run ur life. i for one have hundreds of kids. but they have there own parents. but i see them grow up

I dont understand why anyone would have kids. They are nothing but a burden.

It's a good thing someone didn't think you were a burden.... Kid's aren't burdens they are wonderful.. We are blessed to have them.....
