so right now, it's snowing. i head out down my road, a 2 lane 55mph rural road, but i'm only really able to go 30-40mph since there's a few inches of snow down. towards the end of the road i come upon some kid walking in the middle of the road. the ONLY reason he heard me was because i downshifted 2 gears so that he could. he spun around and was fairly scared since i was kinda close. did he jump outa the road? nope, he stayed in the middle and i passed on by.

a month ago or so i was coming down my road during night time. as i near my house i notice some biker slowing way down, once he drops down to like 20mph he starts flashing his lights at me. i almost brushed that off since there were people outside earlier in the day looking around in the woods, i assumed they lost a dog or cat. had i not slowed down because of the biker, without a doubt i would have killed 4 girls. i say this because as i came around a slight turn, a turn obscured by tall grass, there were a group of grils walking with traffic shoulder to shoulder. yes, 4 wide on a 55mph road in the dark. if i had not been going only 30mph, i would have creamed them.

now, i'll try to be as polite as possible, really. but what is it that these morons are learning from their parents to cause such stupid behaviour? i know the school systems are poor here, i moved here for my last 2 years of high school and to say i sailed through it would be an understatement. but really, is it here or everywhere?

Not sure where you live because I didn't view your profile, but I've lived in TN, VA, and OH in the past year and hope you don't get too disillusioned, but there are stupid people in those three states too!!! LOL

i mean yesterday...

i flipped on my turn signal to hop into a turn lane, some pedestrians walked out and stood right in it waiting till they could cross. i'd somewhat understand if i was in a city, but i'm nowhere near any cities. they saw me coming and stood there staring at me.

to me, there are far too many "what if's" in life to be so careless and dumb

I've lived on the road for 20 plus years. Its bad and its getting worse. I won't go to the idiots in the road east coast anymore. Was there a month ago nothings changed. Its surreal-the lack of common sense.

Everywhere. Like Frank Zappa said: "The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and human stupidity."

oh yeah. most i've seen was 3ft though, and that was a loooong time ago. usually we get up to 8 inches or so a few times a year with a few inches here and there. so far, it's been crap. until today it had snowed twice and been maybe an inch total

Here as well. Stupid, stupid, stupid!! I have never in my life seen such idiotic behavior in people.
Especially on the highway. Pulling out in from of a semi going...let's say....70? What do they think? The tractor can just stop on a dime?? HELLLOOOOOOOO.............

The kids these days think they are so invincible and bullet proof... It's almost like they are daring you to hit them.

There is no respect for the safety of themselves nor others...it seems.

Stupid knows no borders....

I'm one to talk though.. I've been hit by 11 vehicles ~including a city bus~ while either riding a bike, jogging or walking. I'd like to think I wasn't at fault in all of them...but the law of averages kind of speaks against that.

The two things working against me in my youth were:

1: A sense of indestructibility.
2: I thought I knew everything.

Really a pretty bad combination. I shouldn't have lived to see my 18th birthday, let alone my 44th.

A few years ago.. I was walking to the store... deep in thought about a project I was working on. When I stepped off a curb and about to walk across a busy street..only to snap back to the real world by something that caught my eye.. The Ham's Bear bearing down on me at 40 miles an hour.

How ironic would that be? Somehow I defied the odds and quit my alcoholic drinking, only to get smeared on the pavement by a beer truck.

I love snow. but can't drive in it. That the best way I can use my common sense I don't risk others or myself. Yes, Virginia (especially the mountain side) does get snow!

people are stupid EVERYWHERE. I used to live along a main rail line just outside a large city. Soooo many kids have been killed along that stretch of tracks riding snowmobiles in the winter or ATVs in the summer. The only good thing is, if they're THAT f'in dumb, at least they won't be contributing their DNA to the gene pool
