Did the Jets get caught cheating? Well, I do recall a team in the AFC east having a 1st round draft pick taken away. And I believe that very same team and head coach being fined. But as I recall, that was the PATRIOTS! Not just an accusation dude. They flat out got busted by the Commish. Yes - they did get caught, video taping from the end zone. Which is "against the rules. They did it against the Patriots in the wild card game last year. The difference is - they were not turned in to the league office. Just told to stop. Which is why Mangini reported them in the opening game of this season. Which back-fired on him. When the Jets fire him after next season - he'll be hard pressed to get a co-ordinators job. To say "no way the Patriots could be accused of doing anything wrong" is just living in denial. You have rejected reality and substituted your own. Okay - explain to me how the Patriotys benefited by the tape from the Jets game - and how you can demonstrate they were able to gain any advantage of the teams - (no of which by the way being able to defeat them) to support your claim of cheating? As for what people will be saying in 50 yrs....are you kidding me? 50 years of football is alot of football. Who knows what people will think in 50 freak'n years? Ever hear of Sammy Baugh - Johnny Unites - Jim Brown shall I go on? They played fifty years ago. But then - maybe you don't know much about football. |

the Dolphins will ALWAYS have the undefeated record simply because they had a tougher time accomplishing it, and ... 1)it took teamwork: Morrall came in when Griese got injured halfway through the season . . . took em to the playoffs where Griese returned after blowing the then BOSTON TEAM 52-0!!! 2)two 1000 yd rushers (Morris and Csonka): had both the running game, the passing game (Warfield), defense AND special teams (Ypremian) 3)the winningest coach in the history of the game: 'nuff said. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL . . . 4)they DIDNT CHEAT!!!! so all you PAT fans...I guess this is payback for the 52-0 shellacking midway through that season ... or perhaps the fact that it took a hefty fine and some lost draft picks to get you off the hook . . . well CHEATERS NEVER WIN . . . THEY JUST HAVE AN ASTERISK BY A NON-EXISTENT FRANCHISE STATISTIC!!! LIVE WITH THE GUILT! CHEATERS!!! Looks like we're gonna have to put an asterick beside them San Diego Super Chargers then. I know, we'll call them the "San Diego 'Roids". |

He did it because the patriots CHEATED. That maximum fine has never been imposed before but the commissioner thought it was warranted because he does not tolerate cheating. well i guess a tape from first quater of game 1 can help a team go undefeated....hemmmmmmm
as for the punishment, nfl knew that every team does it some way or another( other coaches have said so) and wants to set an example...we all know nfl doesn't like the pats...remember when the colts complained about the pats linebackers hitting them and the nfl changed the rule...... the point is: PATS are going to win the superbowl....live with it and enjoy the show... |
