You can START to fall... but I, personally, can't do it 100% without seeing/being with/meeting them. Maybe I'm just weird.. <shrug>

You're not Jace, I agree with you.. sometimes it's hard when you really spend a lot of time chatting and on the phone b/c they don't live close.. You have to check yourself.. b/c the bottom line is unless one is willing to move, you can't have anything..

I agree with that. You can chat with them online, and talk on the phone, but it's not until you see each other face to face that you really know if you have something or not........

Its the old saying, "You can't love someone, unless you've at least had a cup of coffee with them".

You can think you can, but when it all comes down to it, until you meet someone in person and know that person is the person you "love" online, you're not in love.

I think if that happens...it's just because you're falling in love with what you hope the person will really be like....then the reality hits.

Well online, people take on a new persona, and you can really like that persona, but in person, they are who they are in real life. Online dating is a way to "meet people" not necessarily a place to fall in love with someone you've never even had a cup of coffee with.

I think you can be very attracted to an on-line persona -- maybe even "love" (in some sense of the word) the person you think you see/hear/read -- but reality is another thing entirely.

Even the most "real" are likely to be at least a little different in person....I think it's difficult to convey the actual concept of who someone is without taking into consideration their physical aspect....

Exactly. I just met someone on here last night, and I was attracted to one aspect of her, her height. And when I met her in person, I found out her photo was quite a few years old. And oh my how she's changed. I'd hope to fall in love, but its just not to that point yet.

yes you can...once i was coming from the kitchen and saw i had an instant msg and ran to the computer and fell...so see it does happen haha...no really, i think you can. i think you get to know their heart and what inside first. but often, once you meet in person, that can change. people are different online than in person. they can hide behind the monitor and speak differently than when in person...i dont know...im rambling ... NEXT?

Yes, I think that one could have a great fascination for someone before meeting them in person.

I thought I knew the answer to that question...not I'm not too sure. People say things...you wonder if they truly mean them. You think you really know someone...till they do the exact opposite of what they have told you.

I think meeting them face to face...will tell most people alot. There is NO hiding behind a computer terminal or a phone line..........

I think that it's possible but not so probable....
