Topic: Why people hate Ron Paul

I have said this in another topic.

Ron Paul goes far too over the top, halfway through his discussions on issues I have agreed with him, but then he goes on to go to a far extreme and I realize he's a nut.

He believes in an absolute isolationalist policy, and in theory, without the realities of the world, I'm down with that, but in reality it would be a devastating policy. It simply cannot be done in this type of world, both economically, strategically, and protecting our interests and secure at home.

He believes in non intervention in polotics. Hes not against trading with countries in fact he encourages the use of trade to negotiate. People label him isolationist, but thats not true he just doesn't want to interfere in other countries where we have no right to be.

Ron Paul is not going to win the Republican Primary. That, however, is unfortunately not the problem. I actually believe that there are healthy and substantive reasons for Ron Paul to run in the Primary. Paul is elevating Constitutional issues and fiscal restraint and in doing so, he encourages Republicans to address these important issues. However, unlike the other Rebublican candidates that will eventually support the candidate who does win. Ron Paul may be this election cycle's Ross Perot. He looks frighteningly like the third party candidate that spoils the race and unwittingly leverages a liberal Democrat into the White House. Ron Paul has enough money and enough supporters that he will change the election and it will cost the Republican party the presidency. While this would be welcome news for my friends on the Left, it would be a devastating development for Republicans.

I think people don't like him cause they're afraid of him. I mean what kind of "republican" votes against the Iraq War Resolution, doesn't support the Patriot Act, is a proponent of habeas corpus, and doesn't like torture . . . something isn't right

Yeah but you need to be when you idolize the founders. I mean they were terrorists, traitors, and started a revolution. I don't see how much more radical you can get then that.

I'm all for revolution but not that kind.

I want to know why people don't like Ron Paul. What is it about his stance on issues that you do not like.

Please no attacks on anyone I want real reasons and a real discusion. I am a Ron Paul supporter and I want to know why people don't like him. I think that it is always good to see things from other peoples point of view.

It's because alot of people fall for the corporate propaganda.

Ron Paul isn't going to go that far I am just saying that the founders that everyone idealizes took things to an amazing extreme and compared to them he is not being radical at all.

But, he is the only candidate that is truely for the people, so he won't win. The Corporations need someone they can buy, not someone that will put them in their place.

I still think he has a chance even if he doesn't get the rep nom I am going to write him in.

Ron Paul is the best candidate we've had in my lifetime. One man, against the machine. I'll do anything I can to help get him elected, I've got nothing bad to say about the people of this country. It don't matter why folks don't support Ron. It matters only that we do, all we can.

I'd rather loose to the wrong person, than not vote for what's right.

There was this nazi that was so good at propaganda. He said that If you lie to them often enough, they'll believe. I had this girlfriend in college. She'd tell me things, that i knew were wrong. I knew she lied. She did it al the time, I guess I grew to expect it. When she broke up with me. One of my complaints was that she lied. We know that we are lied to about, this war, why we are fighting it, and many more things from both parties. Yet when one of them gets busted, we act surprised.

Ron Paul is the Republican's
worst nightmare.

Especially when he makes more
sense than the other candidates.

The Republican candidates
want to either lull the
voters into a false sense
of security with Reaganesque
phrases or make them quiver
in fear from unseen terrorists.

Ron Paul is the Republican
anti-Republican, and that's
what they hate.

We agree on this. But is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Paul has no chance of winning the nomination; but he certainly has a good chance to enrich the debates.

true But I'll Vote for Him anywaydrinker

Knowing he won't win, why would you even waste your time to vote for him? That mentality is futile. I just pray he does not run as an Independent.

 OK, come ellection day, America will have a Choice between 10 Lying Sacks of Crud and !0 Snakes that did sell their mother for a 5 cent cegar... :smoking:

One thing is clear about Ron Paul, either he's a bumbling racist and neo confederate or just likes to live off the life blood of those who are. Or maybe he's just careless, if his claims are true (which I doubt) that he didn't read the articles in his own publications which were obviosly racist and pro KKK. Either way, even if I put aside his ridiculas ideas, no thank you, I care too much about equality to even consider a vote for Ron Paul;^]

Turtle I don't know why you think that Ron Paul is racist, and why you imply that he is going to restrict the rights of non whites. I know about the articles in the paper that were racist remarks, and the controbutions from white supremisits. First off if I was running from president I wouldn't care who gave me money, and second off even if he did write those letters it is pretty resonable to guess that its not a big deal now seeing as I have never heard him actually make a racsist remark or even slight non-whites. And I don't think that his ideas are riduculas if you sit and listen to him with an open mind they start to make some real sense.
