I was watching the Tyra Banks show last night about a 12 yr old transgender boy and other transgender ppl....forgive me if this sounds stupid ...but what is the diff between transgender and transsexual??? And how do you guys feel about children doing this?

i think a transgender is a boy dressing up as a girl and vice versa. a transexual gets the surgery. correct me if i'm wrong.

Its easiest to look it up on Google, should tell you a lot more faster. And stop watching shows like Tyra Banks..thats almost like a female Jerry Springer! Stop watching soap opras! Stop..oh wait, don't stop doing that..its kinky and cute!

I attended a conference where a program was in the educational value of such a topic. Sex and Gender are different in that sexual is BIOLOGICAL and gender is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT. If I remember correctly, transsexual means that someone had made the transition and that their sex correctly matches their gender. Transgendered means someone who hasn't necessarily made the transition. It's mix match in sex and identity. Watch this youtube video for more information: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lVi5pnCJjiU

Transgender is where you were born a female but you feel like you are a male. Or you were born a male and you feel like you are a female.
