I also like it, depending on the genre. If you think about it, singing without instruments to back up the voice existed long before musical instruments were invented, so having a deep appreciation for that style shows you have depth and understanding and a genuine love of music. smokin

my cousin went to David Lipscomb College and sang in an acapella group while there.....they were aewsome!!! Now she is in a contemporary christian group called Durant

Oh I would have to disagree with this statement, I would venture to say that basic instruments were used long before vocals. i.e. tribal drums

And I'd have to disagree with this. We were born with voices, instruments/tools had to be invented. Seems kinda like saying we used vehicles before we walked.

I love acapella singing. In high school when I was in choir, most of the songs were acapella. Like Carol of the Bells, now that is a fun song to sing.
