Not a dating site but did meet someone online. They flew me to Boston and we were able to spend time with eachother in Bar Harbor, Maine. Fabulous two weeks invested.


3 months later they move to North Carolina and we were in a 6 year relationship. Parted on good terms and still communicate often.

They now live in New York.

I have and would do it again.

I might be just a bit jaded right now, but I have my reservations. I think you have to keep and open heart and a open mind. I personally think that you have to be willing to take the chance to be hurt in order to do online dating. If you are not willing to do that you will probably not see the rewards that it could bring. From recent events I don't think I am personally willing to do that, but good luck for those who are.

I've been on the online dating sites for a couple months now, dated a few women, saw one girl for a month and a half, that turned out awful, just started dating another girl yesterday and seeing her wednesday again, plus I'm supposed to be seeing another girl tonight, and talking to about 4 other girls. Have to keep my options open after that last mistake. But to answer your question, yes, I think online dating could work, just like the real world, things may go wrong, things may go right.

I have but it didn't work. Glad it works for others.

I think there are some benefits to it - you learn about the person first without the distractions, by just chatting and talking - not 'where are we going tonight, what should I wear'.
Of course, it only works if you are honest and forthcoming, as in any realtionship.
I've known many that have worked very successfully, and others that have not - but then those people wouldn't have been successful in a relationship that met face to face to begin with either.
Use your head, you don't truly know who's on the other end, go slow and always listen to your gut!

Met my ex-husband online. Transplanted him to NC. We parted ways and are now good friends and work hard to raise our son together.

Also, met my current beau online. Dating 3 months in person. Talked/IM'd/emailed for about a month beforehand. 3 months does not seem like long, but for me is a record since my divorce (over 5 years ag) other than my rebound relationship.

Just go to be safe and sure and check them out throroughly!

I met my gf on another site....

Met eight other people on line, and those were absolute train wrecks.

i have met a few guys online. All of them failed but im not giving up just yet. It works for some and not for others.

Yup. You sure did.
Now it is up to the interpretor to figure out exactly who I am talking about.

Met a couple of guys from a different site...Was with one for 1 1/2 years...still good friends, we keep in touch..
