I was deadlifting (off of a plate). I did 405 without much problem so I jumped in and tried to do 430 or 435 or something and I picked it up off the ground a little too fast and lost my balance, put my left leg back to catch myself as I put it down and when it came down it smacked into my right shin pretty hard
It had the appearance that it was going to really do a number on my shin but actually it just left a big (and growing) lump |

dude, don't push your limits too much too fast. your body needs to adjust, you might be harming your joints

Yeah, I'll be more careful next time - I've just never lost balance deadlifting before, it was odd.
toasted, thanks for the advice... but really I have never had any joint pain while working out I did start slower and I've just worked my way up steadily over the past 6 or 7 weeks. |
