I know about patron saints, but not gods and goddesses. I just believe in God...the father, son and holy ghost.

Believe it or not...This is one religion thread I WON'T flame.
Although, i don't believe in gods, or goddesses, I DO believe pagan(or, country) religions are much less harmful that their "jesus" based counterparts. Too bad your only asking for women friends. I'd be one of yours in a heartbeat. |

My Patron Goddess is Aradia, Daughter of Diana.
She is my patron Goddess because of her wisdom she was sent here by her mother to teach women to protect them selves, live as a witch. and teach Women to defend them selves against oppresors. She it the Protectress of all women and Children. So much more but not enough time. GeminiGoddess |

Very intersting. If I were to have a patron Goddess it would be Diana herself. Not because I am her name sake, but because from the time I a baby, I have felt a kinship with the moon and have always admired, greatly, femine women with a warrior spirit, a gentle heart and a Logical mind to complete the package.

This is interesting.
I did a little research and found that Aradia is the Daughter of Diana (the Goddess of the Moon) and Lucifer! At first I thought that this may have Christian underpinnings, because many people believe that Lucifer was the angel who fell to become Satan. So at first I was thinking that Aradia is the Devil’s Daughter (like our very own DD ) But upon further investigation I see that the Lucifer in this story is not a devil but is the God of the Sun. So it’s all good. Diana used magic to charm Lucifer into her bed (at least I guess that’s where God’s and Goddesses make babies). I always find this strange because mortal women are always beating off the mortal men with sticks. Anyway Diana came to earth to teach mortal women magick that they could use to protect themselves from their oppressors. Later she returned to the heavens and sent her daughter Aradia back to earth to continue to teach women witchcraft. Aradia become known as the Queen of the Witches. It appears that Diana and Lucifer were brother and sister as well. Hmmm? I guess it’s not a problem for sibling deities to procreate. At least so the legend goes,… http://www.angelfire.com/biz7/aradia/ |

Abra, apparently it was not a sin for human siblings to procreated either - well,at least until evolution put an end that sort of thing??

Goddess: The Holy Spirit
God: God of the Holy Bible Of course I believe in the son that they bore together, Jesus. However, I look to the many stories that surround the many Gods and Goddesses of the world to gain spiritual wisdom as well. |
