Not intentionally... But, I have definitely been unkind in the past, not always in the relationship, but in the beginning stages. I was worried that I would hurt them if I articulated my disdain (whilst hurting them in my demonstration). I'm smarter now. I just say "no" and don't blur the lines.

Yes, although I don't know that I'd call it a dinner party because for me it happened when it was two couples and we had dinner at their house. The worst part is I would keep the bad food in my mouth because I neither wanted to chew it nor swallow it.

Yes, I believe if someone too the time and energy to make meal they should be complimented. It may not be to my taste or liking, but that's not the point. So, I will always compliment this way:
"Thank you for making this _______" Have you ever attended a function with a partner for them, wasn't enjoying the experience but chose to bite your tongue? |
