I just got back from cutting a fresh Christmas tree from the top of my local mountain. The permit was $5 from BLM, ehm… Bureau of Land Management and it was an adventure of snow and mud. But, it was a cool first time event. For years I just went to a local market or garden center and rummaged through whatever they got. This time I got to pick size, shape and species and cut it myself. It took a couple hours navigating their map to find an appropriate area, and a bit of hiking to find the right one. But a worthwhile experience overall. I really feel like I did something other than just be a consumer.

Making: sugar cookies, chocolate covered peanuts, no bake cookies, gingerbread men, peanut butter blossoms, Oreo cheesecake balls, buckeyes, white chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate chip cookies... And I'm not sure what else.... For my sister's party tonight ... And I don't even celebrate Christmas 🥴
