Isn't she?! Totally adorable, hihi. love smooched

What would "little Rose" (Roosje) be in German? Do you have a diminutive for that or would it be "Kleine Rose"?

Haha, we'll see! I'm already cat-trained by my li'l Nila, hihi.
Cute she is for sure!

She is adorable! If I wanted a kitten, that's one I would choose. You are lucky to have found her.

Thank you!
I asked Spirit to help me find a 3-colour which I've wanted all my life and never had. So I asked Spirit to help me find one and also a kitten that would be right for me and my li'l Nila, the almost 2 yr old cat that I already have.
Clearly Spirit listened as shortly thereafter I found a family with 2 expecting cats and both tend to have 3-colours in their litter :D
And... this family doesn't ask money for the wee ones. As long as they find a good new home they're happy.
So I feel blessed that Spirit sent me what I asked for smooched

Thank you, Mike.

ANd yes, I've found another one already.
So right now very mixed feelings: happy about the new kitten, but still heartbroken about Roosje's passing. I'd seen her grow from a few days after birth, went to see her every week. I'd bonded with her, she really felt like my cat.
Even though she didn't live with me yet, I am heartbroken, will take time to get over it. I dreamt about it last night...

Bonding with the new one will take a little time as I've only seen her once and missed out on those first weeks.
She's same age as Roosje was, born a few days later.

So in that sense I still get to have a new kitten by the end of this month.

I feel like posting a photo of the new kitten. I sure have not forgotten the other one and I'm thinking of painting her.
But the new one deserves a place of her own and itΒ΄s her birthright to be special as well.

I was a bit in a twist as I want to name the new one Roosje as I like that name so much, itΒ΄s so sweet! But it also seemed weird to do that after what happened.
Last night I was talking to my cousin about it, a tremendous cat lover, and she said, "It can also be a beautiful tribute."
I hadn't looked at it that way. I will, however, add a 2nd name to it to make a distinction between the two.
It's going to be Roosje Carina. That name will be on her cat passport from the vet's. Carina means `little belovedΒ΄.

In a way the new kitten looks remarkably like Roosje, and yet she's entirely different. Kind of peculiar.
She's 4,5 weeks old, born 5 days later than Roosje, on May 3.
This is Roosje Carina:

I went to see Rosa again this afternoon, and OMG... I'm in love! Hihi.
Last time it was evening and the light in their pantry where the kittens reside isn't too bright so I couldn't see Rosa as clearly as I could now with proper daylight.
She's beautiful!!!

And she is the cutest from the lot too, hihi. Like last week the others were asleep and as I walked in she looked up at me, eye-contact right away!
Mother was there though, snoozing as I guess the kittens had had a drink and she looked alarmed, wrapped her front paw around her babies right away, keeping her eyes on me.
So I reassured her, softly talked to her while I gently stroked her. Then she settled and was fine.
Only then did I pick up little Rosa. She's such a cute thing, so small! She and her sister are the smallest of the litter, but I think Rosa is more petite even.
And only now did I see the beautiful lines of her fur on her left hand side.
I'll post some photos in which you can see a bit, but it wasn't easy as she kept walking and climbing etc. hihi.

In spite of how I came to find her, through the loss of li'l Roosje, I'm beginning to feel more and more it had to be this way, for whatever reason.
Rosa sure as heck feels like the right kitten for me, which I'd asked Spirit, to guide me to the right one for me and my other cat Nila.

In any case, here are some photos :D

Her head is blurred as she kept moving, but you can clearly see the lines on her left hip area

Going to see li'l Rosa 2 days from now :D She'll be 7 weeks then.

That's the last time I'll visit her. The next time I'll go will be to bring her home!

I've decided to not call her Rosa but Stella. That name suddenly came to me and seems to fit this kitten better.
I think if I'd stick to Rosa it'll keep reminding me of what happened a few weeks back, and also will be a constant reminder of the other kitten that passed away.
Stella means "Star" which I like!

Not easy to take a good photo as she keeps running and playing etc. and... she's so fast!
They're now in the barn where they have plenty of room to run and play.
They get to go outdoors occasionally as well now.

I've come to realise that losing Roosje last month did affect me a lot, and in a way still does.
I notice that with the new kitten, Stella, I'm holding back, for instance with doing or buying things.
I didn't understand why at first, then it dawned on me that I'm afraid something is gonna go wrong again and I will get that horrible news a 2nd time.

Yesterday I brought my little Roosje home. Yup, calling her Roosje after all, haha. When she was here it seemed to suit her better than Stella.
In any case, she was so cute & sweet, and when I had her in my lap we really bonded! It felt she truly belongs with me, she's home with me.
She ate well, I find her rather skinny so I hope she gets a bit more meat on her. She played, slept, cuddled, purred etc. etc.
But Nila... the first meeting seemed okay. Nila went to Roosje and they stood nose touching nose without hissing or raised hairs. I thought, wow, this is promising!!!
But then later on Nila started hissing, growling (NEVER heard her do that before!!!) and she was completely stressed out.
Roosje wasn't phased in the slightest though? Although when Nila came closer she did crawl under something.
Around 11 I took Roosje upstairs so Nila could relax as she was totally upset. And I do not want to lose my bond and trust with her.

Roosje slept well last night, not a peep. When I got her out of the front bedroom she immediately began to purr love smooched
Later on another meeting with Nila who'd been outdoors most of the morning & afternoon. Again upset.
Then I remembered I still had the Feliway spray from when Nila was a kitten and Bramble was totally upset.
I got it, checked the date, half a year past its sell-by date, dammmm!!!
I decided to spray it round regardless to see what'd happen before investing in new stuff as it ain't cheap.

And lo' and behold... Nila came in about an hour later, got on her cat tree's top platform, bit of washing, short hissing direction Roosje but already showing disinterest. Then she curled up and fell fast asleep???

I could NOT believe it?!?!
The first time EVER I've seen Feliway do what it's supposed to do and I certainly had not expected this big effect and difference?
We may not be out of the woods yet, but this is dammed promising!
Both cats sound asleep in their own basket now.
Peace and quiet whereas Nila had been fussing and stressing all night yesterday until Roosje was upstairs!

My eyes feel a bit sting-y, they've easily been very dry & sore of late and I think the Feliway is irritating them. But if this buys me a ZENNNN evening with the cats, it's worth it, for now, haha.

Oh, and Roosje... she's incredibly sweet and cuddly, but also incredibly naughty!! I don't think I've ever had a naughtier and more strong-willed cat!
What one would call a cute li'l devil, haha.
I am not sure that Nila is going to be able to be the dominant cat in tha house with her. It's already taken a lot of patience from me to teach her to not get on the settee.
As soon as I turn around she's back on it again, 7 times on end!!! Looking at me like "Well, whatcha gonna do bout it?!" And a hint of guilt, clearly knowing she's not supposed to do that.
I won, this time, but a serious clash of willpower, hihi.
Feisty li'l thing!

She's got big ears, long legs, totally adorable!

This morning, right after I had my breakfast... she fell asleep in my lap, completely gone, head dropping back a bit as all her muscles relaxed, hihi.

Little Roosje is venturing further and further, boldly going where no kitten has gone before, haha.
Last night she'd disappeared. I realised I didn't hear her anymore so I started calling and searching, alarmed.

Couldn't find her, then decided to check the extension as the door to that was blocked, but open nonetheless and Nila was in there.
And yup, so was Roosje!?
The li'l dare-devil had figured out how to get over the cardboard block AND through the magnetic fly curtain. That curtain took Nila some time to figure out, prolly more daring to go through it as it was strange, doesn't feel too great on fur/hair either.
But Roosje had done it just like that.

Thank goodness the backdoor was already closed otherwise she'd likely have ventured out into the then dark garden as well!
And I don't want her to go out just yet. She's only been here for 1,5 weeks. Way too soon!
