In the longer term, difficulties may arise regarding how children are brought up, if the parents are not of the same faith, which is probably one reason why some countries or parents demand the couple to both follow the same religion. |

To me, it doesn't matter, unless the other person is a fanatic. I am an atheist and if my partner is fine with it and is okay with scientific reasoning in practical matters, I have no issues about the religion she belongs to, or practices.

It has no other purpose but to make relationships break through constant bombardment with negatively unseen brainwaves in another belief

it is not important. But religion develops our habits and outlook, mindset from our childhood, when getting married in a different religion it might become difficult to cope up, especially girls as we are bound to be adaptive to our partners practice and believes. It shouldn't drive a relationship though.
