We have 2 amber warnings for storms. Storm Dudley is due to arrive Wednesday/Thursday and Storm Eunice will arrive on Friday bringing heavy snow.

Storm Dudley is predicted to hit it’s peak in 4 hrs here and last until tomorrow morning. I’ve bolstered my fence as much as I could so hopefully it’ll still be upright tomorrow. It’s already very windy here and it’s gonna be a long day and night.

What does help for me is to not look at fencing or the gates. Seeing that move stresses me out terribly!
What sux is that the wind will turn to W.
I need to get someone over soonish for some work on the garage. I'm thinking to also have an extra stand put in for the gates. Got the materials but I cannot do that myself. I think that'd make a helluva difference!

My fence is still upright….woohoo although one of my neighbour’s fence has fallen down.

Just learned that after Storm Eunice which is expected later tonight another Storm (Franklin) is due. What joy! 3 consecutive storms to contend with.

Storm Eunice will be more ferocious in the South England whilst bringing heavy snow storms to Scotland. One down, 2 to go

Looks like Eunice is pretty much like Ciara we had in 2020 Or worse. I had hoped to never get a bad storm like that ever again.

I'm at the level of Southend at Sea, just above London, so we'll likely have the same as them.

Quite likely, yes. Forecast is not to write home about, hihi. But one day & night of relative peace before that hits tomorrow afternoon.
These are the days I wished I lived in a terraced house instead of semi-detached, haha.
The other houses in the street that are the same as mine don't have this problem as the adjacent semi-detached block is right next to them. More shelter. They only have to bridge some 2 meters which is right in front of their brick shed, so lots of shelter for their gate.
I'm the last house and nothing between my house and my old wooden garage but about a 4 meter gap where my fencing & gates are. They get the full whack of storms. I already put an extra post in years ago to support the large gate (1.80m wide) so it cannot be used as gate anymore but it's more solid.
Behind me are bungalows so no normal houses to sort of divert the wind either.
Oh well... everything survived Ciara. Fingers crossed!

Bad news Crystal. Storm Eunice has just been upgraded from amber to red!

That means loss of life is now expected.

Storm Eunice hasn’t made that much of an impact in my area yet although snow is falling heavily in other areas but the day has just started. Expecting heavy snow here as the day goes on.

Many schools in the north are closed today. Rail and ferry services ceased operating yesterday afternoon.
