why does it take a lot to verify

As long as you don't load a picture for them to verify it will never be verified!

even same for me, taking time and getting deleted.. If pictures, are not a clear picture of "your" face they will be deleted. And if they ask you to send in a picture to be verified and it is not in the same pose as the picture they send you it will be rejected.. All one has to do is make sure the pictures you post within your profile that you are in all the pictures and not a picture off the net or a scenic picture. The main picture must be a face picture of the Member. Seems the reason yours were deleted was one was the back of someone's head and the other picture was off the net and did not belong to you!
