I thought I followed sports fairly well but I don't know what game this even was.

This is Rugby...in particular this is the Bledisloe Cup (a competition held between the national teams from New Zealand and Australia) with the New Zealand All Blacks vs the Australian Wallabies...I think the All Blacks won the first match..

always favoured the All Blacks as a ruby team.... even got a tee shirt while visiting relatives in Australia , much to their annoyance... " yesh ! Rugby .... a holigan's game played by gentlemen !!!" what happens in the scrum stays in the scrum ha ha !!! @ haro
