Thanks everyone for your response. It looks like 95% of you feel emotional stability is far more important than financial support.
I really need help with the next one; Why is finances the number one cause of divorce in the U.S.?

I don't know how they tabulate those findings but I know that the reason for divorce is sometimes manipulated for reasons of the parties. They will use irreconcilable differences instead of infidelity because the parties do not want to air their business so the official reason is not accurate. Financial may be the same, manipulated. JFYI

If it is true, it would be because two people got together who were not mature enough to handle money matters well.

I wish I knew the answer to this as well. Money was one of the main factors in my split. He wanted everything the we just couldnt afford.
Unfortunately material possessions have become such a status symbol for personal success that alot of people just dont know how to be happy without the crap they cant afford.
