Am I the only one who kinda gets annoyed when someone says, "hey baby" at the start of their emails. People I don't know don't have the right to say that to me. It is so disrespectful. Use part of the screen name or something less insulting. Or am I just too picky?

No, you are not being picky. Most people are ill-mannered. What happened to the wholesome, "Hello"?

Nope! I'm very happy to go by Moon. That has been the shortend version of my screen names for years and years.

I agree -- I don't think terms of endearment are appropriate until people have known each other for awhile.

I never said I wasn't. But I've not bothered to respond to any email where I was called, "hey, baby". An instant way to rub me the wrong way.

LOL
Moon, I was just thinking that last night.. The emails that start "hey baby, sexy, cutie, sweetie, sweetheart, etc"... I know people are trying to be nice most of the time but it is somewhat degrading being that they don't know you...

What if I know you, and just can't remember your name? Much more polite than saying "hmmm, forgot your name."
Or, if I just want you to think I know you... Think about it.
