I am pretty sure that this has been brought up b4 but I can't find the thread so here goes. Why do people click yes or maybe on you in mutual match only to ignore a message saying hi? The message I send is usually a little about me and then a question to get a discusion going. Am I doing something wrong? ANy advice or thoughts on the subject.

The only requirement for a Mutual Match is you click on yes or maybe, anything other than that and there is no match.

As far as people ignoring a message being sent, no idea, I try to message anyone I am a mutual match with and will usually get a response from some of them, but often does not last more than a few messages. Maybe they liked your picture (Most of the time thats all people look at for mutual matches anyway) but after getting a message from you they look further into your profile and decide they don't think you are compatible (Don't get me started on judging people off just a profile, but it happens) and maybe they are jsut shy/busy/weird/fill-in-lame-excuse-here. I would say keep trying and anyone worth talking to will message you back eventually.

mg i agree with you, i just don't get the rational behind clicking yes when you really mean no. Maybe its just an ego thing click yes on everyone and only respond to the ones you really want. Thats sad and really defeats the purpose.

Haha how often do things really get used for their original "purpose"

It seems the main problem with the Mutual Match system is people don't understand how it works.

Tobias maybe instead of telling about yourself just mention some things you have in common with 'em based on your reading of their profile. Ask some non-intrusive questions about their interests or what they have to say. Several questions gives them options of choosing what to answer - and can tell you yet more about their priorities.

Don't get disheartened. The online dating game is a straaange world.

laugh laugh laugh This q has been askes to death. no one has the answer.
I think most just do it because they are bored. So the best thing to do is go through profiles and just email who you are interested in. Don't like M>M.Don't use it.bigsmile bigsmile

Write the mods or owners and ask them if they can change it to optional......or don't. Your pic is being displayed whether you use it or not. Anyone notice you get and email if someone wants to meet you? It annoys me, but oh well.........for the time being use it or not.......

There were two mutual matches that were actually local and relatively interesting, but neither one replied. Oh well?
