Let me ask this question, why is race still a big factor when looking for a good man or woman to enjoy your life with.

Culture and custom normally play a huge factor...doesnt even to be down to race...it can be anything...if you have not got anything in common...well its a challenge

It's not, its a personal opinion, some people just arent attracted to somebody thats black if they're white, or white if they're black, just the same as if you arent attracted to somebody with a certain hair color, its just one of those things, some people are only attracted to other races, so like I said, just personal preferance, hope that helps. Personaly I'm more attracted to women of other races, but I'm attraced to all races, have a great Christmas

The factor is why do we have to even think like that, i feel if you are atracted to the other person in any way you should go with your first thought and the hell about what other peaple think!!!!

To me, it doesn't matter what country someone is from, as long as they are not IN that country still, and looking for a way to get out. I am also attracted to women of other races, and have been married interracially once.

I've known a lot of people who use race as a sort of "superficial shorthand" -- a way of creating an exclusionary parameter based on nothing other than an external condition. You'll see the same sort of construct with age, weight, etc.

But there can also be a huge cultural component with the race issue that one less often sees with the other superficial standards.

To me it's no big deal but I have a lot of friends who's parents were bigots and they tend to be too =Maybe how you where raised?/

Race isn't a factor for everyone. Race, however, is still a factor for society (at least in America it is), so is sexual orientation, etc, etc, ect...After being in a biracial marriage with hind sight, I will say due to society's objection and buddy I heard it from both sides, the relationship needs to be strong and so do both individuals and so do the kids, because they can easily get confused what the heck they're supposed to think. Basically, when they asked me, "am I black or white" I told them technically you're both and you're an American - but if you'd prefer to be one or the other or all of the above, go for it, so depending on their mood is what they would put down for race or go with other, or we'd really mess with people and check every single box that applied.

It's a sad thing but race has to do with alot in today's society. There was this guy that found out i was Greek and stopped dating me. Wanna know the reason? Becuase his family would never accept me (Italian) and My Family would be hard to handle becuase they are Greek. I know we are a little dramatic sometimes but who isnt? lol. Oh well.

Personally race isn't a big deal. Attitude and culture are. I, for instance, am not big on the way many (note, I said many not all) african american people act. It is a major turn off for me. To counter that, though, I have had several african american friends who acted differently from my experience of the norm. It really depends on the person.
So no, race isn't a big deal. Being able to get along with and enjoy someone's company is!
