Not all, i think it depends. There could be a single mum out there who has gone through a nasty heart break and is not even looking into that line of marriage. I just have a problem with men who met single mothers and they are quick to judge that she is desperate for marriage, its not all of them actually.

Just tell them "FRIENDS FIRST" and that will sort out the real interested from the rest, and not scare the interested ones with marriage fears if they have any. If you say you are 'independent' they might think you have money to scam. I dated a few single mums over the years; they just wanted to be adults for a while, and socialise, and have fun, not constantly be child minders. Good luck Emm
