I must say I do not understand your OP's picture and text. It's not Memorial Day?
I thought it was a happy day with shows, parades, fireworks etc...

All our Liberation Day festivities were cancelled too (May 5th). It's all a bit different this year.
I hope people will feel joy & happiness in their hearts regardless, maybe have a nice dinner or something at home.
I must say I enjoyed the vibe of seeing our national flag out everywhere on Liberation Day more than other years. Somehow it means more when you cannot have outdoor celebrations.

I am going out to dinner with a friend tonight.

It will be different this year due to the virus, but there are still things to do.

I don’t feel like celebrating. With thousands of deaths and reading about children or there parents dieing. It just makes me sick to my stomach that our leaders turn a blind eye on our citizens. People should be ashamed of themselves spreading this virus when they should be staying at home.

For the first time, I didn't go to the parade, because of the pandemic. Too many people.

I hope everyone has a good 4rth ... just depressing... seems no hope for the mediated future... but if you can take your mind off of all of this ... then believe we all deserve it ... but not going away ...

We had a good time. All of the waitstaff had masks on and used wipes to wipe everything down for us. They even talked to us and told us the history of the Restaurant. I will go again!!!
