I believe alot of depression comes from the holidays when you feel like your alone. Granted some on here think they are all alone beacuse they dont have a woman or a man. Do you have friends or family? People need to start looking for the good things in life and not focus so much on the negative aspects that life is full of. Yeah Im single been hurt more times than I can count but I just learn from them. Its when we find ourselves and do things that we take intrest in we find we arent alone. Just my opinion. Happy Hollidays

I have bipolar depression. Every day is a living hell.
If every day is hell.. then you are a different sort of bipolar then I've had experience with. That sounds more like chronic depression.

In so far as the topic at hand.. Acceptance of whatever my situation is the key. I've been in both better and worse situations than I am experiencing right now.. Even though I was in better... I remember feeling worse, and vice versa.

Which leads me to believe... How I feel is more a choice rather than an effect.

Good Answer Jistme. We all have choices in many areas...
but it is also normal to feel a bit down at time...

No doubt! Me included. However.. it is my choice in how deep I go and how long I stay.

no i do not have holiday depression for you c, i just got rid of all my packages that were riding around in the car with me.

i had to keep my eye on them, because the figi mermaids were busy stealing packages in lakewood where i live. so how could i be depressed? i screamed for joy when i got them in the mail.

then, a terrible thing happened, i stepped on my dog's toe by accident. they like to get under your feet you know. she hates me. her toe is swollen, and her nail is blue. i sure hope she does not lose the toe. well, maybe i could be depressed about that when i c the vet bill.

anyway to all my friends at JSH, stop being depressed. go volunteer to do something for someone, or count your blessings for being alive and a new year coming. repent your sins, start over, and turn over a new leaf. and if that doesn't work, try some baileys and creme in your coffee.bigsmile Lv 2 all, duffy

I tend to get depressed when I find I can't afford to give my son what he has asked santa for. It is a joy christmas morning when he is just excited to have presents from santa.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much
bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."

by the way bi- polar and depression are not the same thing
i have sevear depression, but one wants to treat it, i may also be bi- polar or i can remember the name but the simptons are very similar, i have never really enjoyed christmas, so suffering depression during this time is not fun

zman, when you have lived it, or with someone with it, maybe you will understand that you can have more than one illness and that some people are rapid cyclers.......I'm sorry but you have no right to just say, "suck it up".........and lithium is a very old and sickly drug.

Granted, it helps some people, but it also has some really nasty side effects and one of the worst for me was gaining 100lbs. No I wasn't eating either.!!!!!!

If you took pharmacology, then you would know that. Don't go around throwing scripts at people and telling them it is in thier control, when in fact it may not. And if you studied pharmacology you would also know that drugs are no cure and are only something to help you through your days.

Ok, I've had my say. I don't want to turn this into any kind of bashing thread. I just thought you should know that you came across as inconsiderate and unfeeling.
