1 16 oz Package of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage
1 cup uncooked white rice 1 cup of your choice of shredded cheese 2 cups water 1 10.5 oz can of cream of celery soup 1 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup 1 12.6 oz package of frozen broccoli florets 1 15 oz can of sweet peas 1/2 tsp curry powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp garlic powder Precook and brown your sausage on the stove top. Mix all ingredients in a 13x9 casserole pan. Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Cover with Aluminum foil and place on top of a large cookie sheet (to catch any boil-over), place on center rack of the stove. Bake for 1 hour. 5 minutes before complete, uncover and sprinkle the top with your choice of shredded cheese. Put back in oven and let cheese melt. I will report back on how it tastes once it pops out of the oven for dinner tonight. |

Quite flavorful...will definitely make again.
One helpful hint, if you are not using instant rice, you will want to boil it on the stovetop for about 20 minutes with the Cream of Celery and Cream of Mushroom soups, and the 2 cups of water to help soften it up. I had to extend the cooking time to get the rice to soften in the oven an additional 45 minutes. |

I make something similar(kinda) but I use leftover chicken or Turkey and put in chopped celery, onions and mushrooms and skip the condensed soup.
. Never tried it with sausage... glad it came out well |
