What are we doing for the Holidays ??? you ask????
well......
I am going to the San Francisco Bay area for Christmas
with my oldest daughter,who is 33, an amazing woman,
legal secretary, wife and mother ... and her husband ...
an international recording artist and their three children,

plus my twins who are 31...my Awesome son
who finally will get a break from the road,
and his huge concrete mixer truck ...

and

i hope to meet up with my other daughter
who is an awesome lady too, and a general manager
of a very prominant raw & organic food restaurant
in the bay area
& she wants to introduce me to her new love

i just wanted to encourage you, cuz we all need that from time to time and i really never had the chance to get to know you personally, so i thought this was a good way & introduction....

after losing my fiance to such a tragic death back in 1997,

and then seeing my children's dad, my ex-husband suffer such a terrible stroke that killed him two weeks later, back in 2001,

life and death circumstances ....
either continually kick your butt, and keep you down forever...

or they cause you to get strong and rise up above your set of circumstances, utilizing the life experiences you've gleaned , using those things as tools to help us thru the tough times in our lives, and {btw...} we All have those times...

after Richie fell from the top of the load of lumber on the back of the semi truck a week before Christmas of 1997,
when we were so close to marriage , it crushed me...
and i was a shell of the woman i once was,
a literal basket case....for a long time...

cuz good men just like good women
are so few and so far between
and when you find one...
you've got to hang onto him with all you've got,
because we never know what today or tomorrow might bring..

and then when my children's dad died,
even though we had been divorced for so long,
it would take a mighty insensitive person
to not be totally affected and brought to their knees,
with the devastation, & watching my babies,
all grown up & in such pain that i could never fully soothe.

and so, the reason i told you that,
was {most likely} of spiritual significance,
way greater than my mortal comprehension ...

and i wanted to spread some love
and to shine some light to you, dear child....

give you a little history to help you
and others who may be reading this
of how exceptionally proud and thankful i am
to see my children do so well,
despite such emotional and financial devastation
..and to see them rise above their circumstances...

I cannot be anything else but so proud and so thankful
to see them take their places in life
and to become such integral members
of a very proud group of people...
the middle class...
the literal salt of the earth...
the dedicated souls...
the blood sweat and tears that makes this country run....
it isn't the wealthy who call the shots

but it's that elusive endangered middle class
that keep this countries' machinery well oiled...

Here's to all the people in that category

see... we as parents have one ultimate goal in truth..
it is to work ourselves out of a job,
so that our children can live as fully functioning
productive independant people on their own ...

i have heard it said,
that there are really only two things

that we can give our children in essence ...

One of them is "Roots "

and the other one is " Wings "

i love that so much...
just wanted to share some love, some life experience...
some wisdom and lots of encouragement

Cause what else is there?

but to pass the mighty torch of life and love
onto our beloved next generation
of fine, fine young people

and leave them as well equipped as possible

to forge their way forward in confidence and with pride

and to blaze brand new trails of light and love
for our children's children
and for all generations after that
