With my aspect of view and experience, every one politician in first instance think and work in interest of own arse. The nation or party members are just good excuse.

I rather see a benevolent dictator who put in front national interest than own interest.

No politicians anywhere are leaders anymore, they are all taking orders from others, and are just figureheads, lying for the cameras and sound bytes.

Leaders make unpopular decisions for the greater good of all, for the long term, even at their own cost.

Politicians make popular but useless decisions, and manipulate statistics to show they did something.

Uneducated masses give useless opinions at opinion polls, skewing the political direction towards stupid or wrong, but popular.

Benevolent dictatorship would never work with a normal human; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
You need selfless leaders, not selfish leaders, and even a selfless leader would cause pain and upset, in setting things right.

The latest trend is leaders that just won't go when their time is up, reinventing a new position and rules for themselves, for perpetual rule.
