Well, St. Louis has alot of great parks but Forest Park is the largest. It has a fantastic Art Muesuem, History Muesuem, The Muny Opera (out-door summer shows from Broadway), Steinberg Ice Skating Rink, the Jewel Box (flowers) and the Zoo (one of the better ones in the country).
Laclede's Landing is an old area of St. Louis that has been renovated but still has brick streets. There are many bars, bands, and restaurants. It is by the Arch. Some of the establishments cater to the early 20's crowd. Soulard is another fixed up old neighborhood with bars, bands, and restaurants. There is also Soulard Market to buy farmer's goods. Then there is the Hill. That is the area of Italian restaurants not far from Forest Park. In the winter, if you like Broadway plays -- there is the Fox Theater. Try this: http://stlouis.missouri.org/neighborhoods/index.html/ Let me know if that link doesn't work. Easy places to get into? Do you have temporary disabled parking? That would help. They have wheelchair ramps at the Art and History Musuems. Restaurants shouldn't be a problem. Boy..that's a tough one...broken leg and the snow. Oh, forgot, if you like Christmas light displays, Tilles Park in Ladue has a great one to drive thru. Good luck. |
