Okay, so they say the uniform is supposed to make military guys a total turn on to chicks, but... *blinks* where are they? Believe it or not, anywhere around base there's so much competition, or... ya know, other things that some women do around a military base... Why should I have to compete with 7,000 other guys for one girl? Why is it that most girls like guys who fight for them? Is it an ego thing? Personally - I'd like to meet a woman who wants to stand on her own two feet beside me rather than under me. Does that make any sense?

I don't go chasing after military men because of the reputation..."military men are bed hoppers"-so now that I can actually ask a military man I guess you can answer the question for me...is that true??

Indeed, some of them are - but not all. The quiet ones normally are not.

No mam, I'm a one woman kind of guy. I served in the Army for 10 years.

I guess... I can be a little loud. But I don't think I really classify as "Average". Ask Moran.

Is that true?? Just like anywhere.."yes" and "NO" is your answer.

I served and was NEVER a "bed hopper". But knew some that were (both men AND women).

The reason for that kind of "reputation" is due to the "newly enlisted", who are usually young males 18-21, they get to go out for the first time and see the world. They are "targeted" by many women around the world for the "military benefits", so the women do go after them hard.

So consider in what "context" that "reputation" is based on.

Hope this helps. bigsmile

Shamefully what he says is true. That sort of reputation is based on a lot of things, not just a man's desire to... relieve himself. There's more to it that he/she may not have control over.

I know this post is not exactly new however, I think looking for a woman on post, base, etc. is not always the best idea. They are either going to be a dependant (either a spouse or child).

I have been affiliated with the military since birth and have seen so much cheating and chasing that it's ridiculous. I don't think the uniform is the competition, I think it's the character of people around you.

Don't use your uniform as the "icebreaker" just open your mouth and start up a conversation if a girl interests you.

I am engaged to a militaty guy... but I stand on my own 2 feet, support my kids on my own, etc. I believe in any relationship, it is teamwork. Even once we are married, I have full intention of working. He is probably going to be deployed to the Gulf after our wedding for awhile. If I am working and he is still bringing in money, it will give us that much more to work with when he comes stateside. No sense in me sitting on my butt if I am capable of contributing.
