Topic: Books-The Dark Tower series | |

They don't have an area for books so I just decided to make a book thread here.I read that someone wanted Clint to play Roland..30 years ago I would agree. He looks too old now.I mean yes he was modeled after Clint's Man with No Name after all.But you need a rugged Marlboro Man type and that doesn't exist in Hollywood anymore. However I think James Franco could be a decent Eddie,Hallie Berry a decent Dessa/Odessa/Susanna.And Oy would probably be computer generated. Also would try to get people that have been in other Stephen King movies to reprise their roles in it.IE: Father Callahan from Salem's Lot and Anthony Hopkins from Hearts in Atlanis. What's everyone else's thoughts on this series.

Could you possibly list all of the Dark Tower books for me? I've only read the first three. I seem to recall that Mr. King, at first, didn't even know how many books it would take to complete the story. Thanks much.

I just got done
reading that series! Roland would have to be middle-aged. My pick would be Edward James Olmos. Halle Berry for sure, but CGI would need to be used to cut off her legs like what was done in Forrest Gump. I'm not sure where Anthony Hopkins would fit in. Maybe Brian Dennehey for the priest. |

Well Anthony Hopkins (if memory serves) played Ted in Hearts of Atlantis, and he makes an apperence in the last books. He helps the "Beam Breakers".And James Cromwell since he played Father Callahan in the remake of Salem's Lot they had on TNT a while back. Things like that. Also would say to those interested.Do NOT Read the Coda in Dark Tower...I read that againest my better judgement and afterwards felt cheated. But I was warned and I went againest it.

i still think sam elliot would make a great roland, he has the look for it, and the attitude for it. but the questions of the hand and what the lobstrocities did to it, and who would play jake?

One of these could play Jake.

They would need 2 actors
to play Jake. A younger Jake and an older Jake. |

the fella who played flagg in the stand would have to come back to play him in the last series. and if im not mistaken the dog like creature in kingdom hospital would look alot like what oy would have looked like
Yeah, definitely
the same guy for Flagg!!! |
i love how alot of his books either directly or indirectly revolve around the dts. even from a buick 8 had something to do with it,, the wastelands are there
Well he put elements of
those books into dts after The Gunslinger. The only thing I didn't like was he put too much of his personal story into it. Maybe less might have been more. |
i enjoyed the whole thing, and it was his obscession, so it did kinda revolve around part of his life, look at why jake dies, saving king so he could finish the story. its a great book to me. really great series
I can see fitting
his accident into it. But all that other stuff. Too much. |
well,, no matter what, hes a fantastic author, hes the type i really like, he makes you see what your reading, and its 9 times out of 10 wont let you go
Definately same guy for Flagg/Walter O' Dim and his numerous names.Sam Elliot would have been good years ago.Remember we're aiming for Clint when he was doing spaghetti westerns type. Not old grey haired guy.Roland still is younger then that Maybe 40ish.
