A friend of mine met a girl on Yahoo! Personals that lives about an hour away from him. The girl suggested to go out of state for the date (to a mall). There was a bad ice storm that night so he had to drive over three hours back to his house in ice. I am just wondering, is it worth it?

I don't know, what would YOU do to find that special someone? Everyone knows you have to go through a couple bad "eggs" to get to the good one, or however that saying goes!

If I knew what the weather was, I would not go. I actually told him not to go since she was taking him three hours away. Some place local would have been better (I told him that, I guess she had other ideas).

I think thier is something up with this girl. She is hiding something. To want to travell out of state to met when they both live in same state. Your friend needs to take a step back and think about this one.

this is a good point. maybe her hubby works at the mall close by? who goes to malls on dates anyway?

Says who? A safe and public place, for a first meet and greet, immediately means she is hiding something?

Great, yep, I can see you all recommending your little sister invites some guy, she's never met before, to her house...grumble grumble grumble

Think about it, before you type...

Because all you do is show your own suspicious mind, and what you would do, if trying to hide something.

I went to the mall to just walk around with someone. Then we ended up becoming bf/gf. Then it went horribly wrong  . It was her fault.

i think it was the interstate travel that was more suspicious than anything else. I don't have a little sister, but I think there might be options other than 'a mall 3 hours away' and 'her house' maybe I'm just not thinking. I'm sure you'll let me know.

Truth of the matter was, the 'friend' agreed to the date.... and is now crying foul?

Hello?

Was there a gun to his head when he agreed to a date at a mall, in the next state, three hours from his home?

naw, that's true. I guess being suspicious on a first date pretty much guarantees failure. maybe that mall had a really good starbucks or something.
