Today is the 50th anniversary of the festival of Peace, Love and music  ...
Did anybody here go to it...? Who was your favorite performers who were there? Lots of good ones, for sure! I would have loved to heard Jimi, Janis, Grace Slick, Santana....But I was only 6 at the time, so I wasn’t allowed to go

 I was just watching some of the stuff from the festival too.
I wished I was there but I was only 13/14 myself. I didn't know about it until I saw it on the news and heard Walter talking about it! 
I now know some of the people that were there and some of the performers also, I've had the pleasure of working with a few.(read profile)

I used to think that I missed out and wanted to be there, but then when I got a lot older I saw all the mud and how crowded and little food. I would like to have seen CSNY.

Yeah, I heard about that last day of heavy rain and no place to go to the bathroom!  . Not very pleasant circumstances at all !  
And Carlos Santana took some LSD right before his performance....!  if you never saw it, you should check it out...it was phenomenal!

I read a lot of stories about Woodstock and the movie. I read the book "Back to the Garden" by Pete Fornatale who was a radio DJ I used to listen to.

I was pretty much only 14 months old
when it went down. Didn't see a thing. |

That's right the featured tune on video is "Soul Sacrifice" and when you watch it check out the drummer Michael Schrieve who was only 18 IIRC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= Also I believe it was the entire band and not just Santana that did acid before the gig. |

I was only 3 then :) Also didn't realize it was in the US. I thought it'd been in the UK or somewhere in Europe.
I guess those days were different, many people were different, but 3 days in rain and mud and no loos and little food doesn't appeal to me much. I'll buy the album, haha. |
