Even though I've lived in this area for 16 years now, I still do not understand the local speak. And men tend to mumble as well. So I keep having to ask these builders what they say, sometimes 4-5 times

So I keep having to ask these builders what they say, sometimes 4-5 times sound more like a case of female selective deafness brought on because you didn't like the answer the first 3 or 4 times

I am impatient, fragile and timid/shy I think fixed for me "impatient/patient" In this case; the difference seems to be two letters. *(the letters "i" and "m").
