¿What if you met that special someone and they had to go to jail/prison for a few years (let's pretend it's someting not so heinous as murder or conspiracy), would you wait for them?

No..people change over a few years...plus, life is way to short so why would I sit at home and wait for someone who done something stupid? I say sorry that you have to go to prison but you are the one doing time..not me!!!

they werent giving a sh*t about me or how it would affect us when they were doing what ever it was they were doing to get in trouble why should i think about them when they are paying for it?

A very good friend of mine is dong just that. She actually MARRIED him while in prison. Personally, I probably couldn't. BUT, my friend is happy... I've never seen her glow the way she glows when she talks about him... so who is to say it's wrong?

He gets out in 3 years. He's been in 2 and a half. They've been married 1 and a half...

It takes all types of people... and you can't always help WHO you fall in love with. So if it makes you truly happy, I say GO FOR IT. Afterall... you only go around this life 1 time.

No, not if it is for a few years, a few months maybe.

Everyone approaches life differently.
Some will wait, it is what your heart tells you.

if you are already married i would say wait def. if not and just dating i might be willing to date the person again when they got out but in the meantime i would live my life.

Everybody makes mistakes, if you truely love someone you will wait and forgive, assuming the crime wasn't too extreme (murder, touching kids, etc). I'm gonna take a risk here & admit that I've been there (drug charge from my using days), and even though I was only gone 13 months, the only people who kept in touch were my parents, my cousin & his fiance. It hurt to have so many friends & family walk away & forget about me, and without the few that did I would have had no hope at all. Remember, not all felons are bad people or a danger to society, they're people just like everybody else who's made some mistakes;^]
