I have my mother to thank as I inherited her good genes but I have always looked after my skin.

Can't think of the song you're referring to though

Oh yes, that is very very healthy as well! I have a bottle, although not sure it's 100% since I heard most isn't as it's so incredibly expensive. I bought it in Morocco. I've seen how women make it, cracking each single nut shell. It's a very tedious job, no wonder it's so expensive!

I haven't used mine a lot as I don't like the scent. Maybe I should now that I'm getting a little older. I doubt that stuff goes off?

It does have a shelf life but if you can get over the smell it's worth it happy

That's what I like about the fractionated coconut oil... it's scent free. Plus this way I can add a little essential oil to it when I want something scented or a base oil as some of the essential oils need to be diluted.

Hihi, I may give it a whirl. But how do you deal with the oily stuff? That's the main reason I don't like using oil. It also gets on your hair a bit, or if you go to bed afterwards on your pillowcase and then on your hair.

Yes, I love coconut but I don't need to smell it all the time, nor want to smell like one myself, haha. I wouldn't use it to cook either if everything ended up tasting like it. Too much of a good thing is still too much, right?!
(the type I buy to cook doesn't smell either)

It's not as oily as you'd imagine. You really don't need a lot and your skin absorbs it quickly.

When I was younger I had really oily skin but as I've got older I find my skin to be dry now so I use argan oil to counteract that.

I am olive skinned.

I don't use any makeup (yet) but I am diabetic so I fight dry skin constantly and coconut oil is great stuff AND is close to odorless; I use Shea Moisture 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. It's amazing stuff and goes from solid to
liquid at about 76 to 78 degrees F. It's also super slick and stays that way for a while until it absorbs.....
I'm offended you ladies haven't appreciated my Nancy Raygun beauty tip I shared (it's classified)! smokin

Jojoba oil does the same thing and doesn't smell. I sometimes alternate jojoba with the argan oil

Hah. I am diabetic too but didn't connect my dry skin to that. I always put it down to having my thyroid removed because I noticed the skin change then.

There's another thingie that might be of interest. I used to always wash my face with water. Now I read years ago that that isn't so good for the skin. It removes fats and good things that your skin needs.
Off late I've started to cleanse my face with cleansing lotion instead of water. It is a bit weird, getting used to, hihi, but actually really nice and gentle to the skin.
After that I apply day cream.

I haven't used water on my face for almost 40 yrs. I've always used cleansing lotion too as it doesn't dry my skin like water did.

Now I'm really curious if any woman on here does this.
Watching 'how to' vids on make-up, I get tired just watching it. And the amount of chit you need...
Hydrators, make-up setters, concealer, foundation, powder... Then there's make-up blenders, a gazillion brushes for each product, meaning you have a lot of work cleaning all that stuff every day, which must be tedious to stop bacteria growth in them.

My head is spinning, I cannot even remember the following order, the products used where and when, hihi.
Plus, it costs a ton of money.

Now if you have bad skin, red veins, acne scars and whatever, I can understand a woman doing it.
Hell, it can look very beautiful & natural provided the right products are used. You don't have to look like a mummy at all. In a way I envy these women for their patience and artwork, haha.

The only thing I've ever had is dark rings underneath my eyes. Even as a kid I had this. Got laughed at by teenagers for putting eye-shadow underneath my eyes.
Apart from that no one ever commented on it, no one notices it.

I do not use any of the products mentioned. I just can't be bothered, hihi. Too much time of the day wasted on it.
I'm an Artemis type of woman, natural.

but who on here does use it, and is a make-up lover?
Again, that doesn't mean you have to look like you wear an overdose. I'm certain many do, I know most younger women use all these things.

The beauty industry is an evil industry. There's no need for all this complicated crap. The secret to wearing make-up properly is so that it looks like you're not really wearing it.

For the most part, the women in my family like to keep it simple with their makeup, they may wear eye shadow, foundation, lipstick from time to time, but they don't get too crazy with all that stuff. My exes have all been the same way.

At work, most of the women get how make up works. Every now and again it will generally be a newer younger lady that gets carried away with her make up, but they usually don't last long.
