No one knows when the world
will end.

This is what 2012 will be like:

It will be the best of times
It will be the worst of times.

Things will be faster,
more intelligent,
people will live longer.

Devices that only existed
in the science fiction of
today will be used every day.

The genetic code
will be broken,
which means
new types of
organisms.

They now have
a cat that glows
in the dark.

http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9833107-7.html

Who knows what they'll
have in 2012.

More automation.

Artificial
intelligence
will mimic
human intelligence.

New means of warfare.
Robots and drones
will replace
soldiers.

Sound like The Terminator
doesn't it?

One thing won't change:

Still no peace in the
Middle East.

Check this site out.
There are tons of articles like this claiming the year 2000 is not signifigant. who were these authors trying to pacify? Obviously many must have been concerned.
http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/CU/ac0993.asp

Not to mention in terms of judiasm the Jewish year 5760, according to a 16th century Kabbalistic (traditional) text, "the depths will rise up and flood the world, and there will remain the Land of Israel, which will be like the Ark of Noah."
the Jewish year 5760 began in September 1999 and overlaps the Gregorian year 2000

Why would the Vatican need an observatory and other big scientists to check on the stars? You don't see other churches pulling out the stops like the Catholics are......is there something more we should know about? Or something they are trying to hide from the public? Astrology in a religious dotrine....hhhmmmm interesting.....

Articles, links, they are both double sided..... and both cut deep. You have governments that tell the truth 100% and keep us all in the loop, right?? No wait....... we aren't kept in the loop and they lie.....

The true signifigance is the Mayan Calendar and it ending a 3rd dimension going into a 4th filled with more awareness....

20 years ago we didn't have all the shyt that is happening now at rampant accelerated speeds, thought nothing about....now presently look around at our world, remember we have 1 planet, there are no alternatives to go to...... what we do today effects us tomorrow....

Mother Earth can only take so much crap before self cleansing and self preservation occurs.....we have stripped our resources, know where oil comes from?? Fossils of dead dinosaurs and other once lifesources.... how many you see walking around, dinosaurs that is?? How many people are on earth, just a quick guestimate???

huh

huh

It was projected to be at 6.7 billion July 2007. Projections show that for 2050 it will be at 9.2 billion...and considering in 1950 it was 2.5 billion is it no wonder the numbers are causing environmental degradation of our planet???

Wonder how many human fossils it takes for a barrel of oil??laugh

What would it take for you personally blankpage to change your entire way of life? No more car, no more electricity, no more recycling (if you do that anyway), no more chemicals to clean our houses??? We take so much for granted......so I ask you what would it take? A war? A natural disaster? An act of God?

Amazing...all wars relate to a conflict of religion....do you think thousands of years ago they devised us to be separated in thoughts and doctrines soley to watch us destroy each other fully knowing the consequences already set into play?

What if what we are living now right now is not real? It feels real, but how do we know, because our minds tell us it is real? If we close our eyes we can imagine other worlds, who is to say this world is not just a dimension? Sure we can go about our routines, wake, go to work, sleep, get up and do it all over again....but are you really living or going through the motions of existance, to get by, with what you need...money for housing, gas, money for cigs, booze and coffee...... what if we had no more money....then what?

There are many people who have predicted many things and many prophecies from many people of cultures lost through the ages, but think about this blankpage...... what is time to you? Is time important? For many time is MONEY MONEY MONEY, show me the money..... know what the first machine was? A clock. A clock to show us time outside of ourselves......shows us hours, days, weeks, months, years......but about the time inside of us? A time we have gotten away from? What if we are the living prophecy, each one of us?

Long sigh.....

Can anyone debate the fact that where we are as a planet on the whole is at a state it has never been in before? This is fact people. The ecosystem is off, the population at a high, never before in Earth's history has it ever been in the condition it is than right now......we can debate how it got here, but that's another rant thread

2012 relates to the Mayan calendar and remember these Mayan's knew the stars and were fuuuccckking excellent at math..... the date relates to a phenomenom in space that has been happening for thousands us years and its journey leads to 12-21-2012. An alignment between the galactic plane of our galaxy and the solstice meridian... oh it gets better.... "The place where the December solstice sun crosses the Milky Way is precisely the location of the "dark-rift in the Milky Way...'xibalba be' -the road to the underworld."

Yes things may go out of whack from this, storms, etc....the transition time is starting already... some are more open to it than others. Answers point to our body, one's own mental attitude, the energy of one's own heart, one's own living breath as the beginning place of orientation to feel one's unique connection to our planet...a transition...an awareness.

Sometimes it takes something major to get us to really open our eyes and remember what we so long ago forgot... what is really important in Life... that awareness is what is approaching...

Just because the Mayan calendar ends on that date doesn't mean that the end of world is coming. In fact the most probable scenario is that a couple thousand years ago during the pre-colombian era the Mayans just didn't feel like continuing it that far. As with Nostradamus....well there are so many theories and rumors going around on the net and they keep getting more exadgerated everyday.

Welcome to JSH and first post.... boy you like jumping head first in the deep end....LOLlaugh laugh

One calendar ends... who says another doesn't begin anew???? Their calendars aligned with the stars and the galaxy, they knew how to crunch numbers, they didn't just pull a vague number out, there was a reason for that date...

An awareness........ a transition.........

Exaggerations for some, might be an eye opener for others...just the preceptions you can mentally handle...

Hey, thanks. I agree that the Mayan Calendar theory holds a decent possibility due to their obsession with Astrology. But when it comes to the Nostramus end of the world theory I try not to jump on the bandwagon with all those conspiracy theorists. Know what I mean? You have to take this stuff with a grain of salt. It's gone thoough so many people who knows how it actually started. It seems like every year people come up with something thats going to happen because supposedly Nostradamus said and it doesn't happen. Then these same people wait for something to happen then try to find something in his writings that are remotely similar then claim that people were quoting Nostramus before the event occured bla bla bla.....you know what I'm saying......

Anybody who says this is going to happen or that is going to happen...grain of salt...check and re check and triple check.....

Interestingly, it is not just the Mayans....several other Native Indian tribes tie into it....and other civilizations long lost... so to point at Nost and say it is just him is by far inaccurate....

I just like the topic and thinking about the 'what if's'....there is certainly more to just us as a people....certainly more to just our planet.... somebody out there was incredibly intelligent beyond what could be fathomed or else a humourous race that liked to watch the planet self demise.... all at our hands... and thoughts....
