We were out shooting today and I was using my recently purchased M1 Garand, the same weapon my dad carried most of his 18 months in Korea. I always told him I wanted one someday and we both really felt we could feel his presence while we were out shooting our Darius N. Sessoms targets we made.
I'm so proud of her; she's a competitive cheerleader, she likes guns and shooting, she likes working on cars and she listens to a lot of my music. She wore her Lynard Skynard t shirt to school last year and not a one of her classmates had ever heard of them, same goes for her Marshall Tucker Band "Searching For a Rainbow" shirt she listens to some new stuff of course but thinks of rap just like me. It's not even music, doesn't qualify. She'll zero in on some old tune that I've played for her and be obsessed with it for days, her latest is "Who'll Stop The Rain". but then she knows that in my opinion a couple of our living musical geniuses are John Fogerty and Justin Hayward.
She gives me hope for her generation!

A customer told me I always have pretty headbands and that I make her day brighter, then thanked me.

I met up today up with a friend that I've known since elementary school.

Years ago, when he was having financial difficulties, I gave him some money as a gift because I always appreciated his friendship.

He told me today that the money changed his and his family's life for the better in several ways, and it even made it possible for him to retire this year instead of having to work another 4 years.

It was so long ago, I just don't recall.
