I’m convinced most people in long-term relationships are actually miserable. Sure, it’s nice to have a partner to cuddle with at times, but marriage can also be terribly inconvenient and a pain. If you don’t believe me, consider the surprising benefits of being single. To me being single outweighs being married.
You can sleep in peace. You can manage your own money. You can travel on a whim and stay in touch with your girl or boy friends. You can flirt with someone else without fear. You can become more self sufficient. You can avoid getting into a bad match. You have more freedom to do what you want. You can watch whatever you want. You can avoid getting stuck with a divorce. You can make a fool of yourself and be ok with it. Why can't two single people live together just like married people do? |

It's nice Being single except when you get home from work, and there is no there to talk to and such. Marriage isn't all that bad until it ends in divorce, and you gotta pat for kids you never get to see... Kinda digging the idea of a "spiritual marriage." No legal crap to deal with.. if it don't work out you go your separate ways.

I’m convinced most people in long-term relationships are actually miserable. You've convinced yourself... It's a nice rationalization for people that can't find a partner. |

Nothing wrong with being single.
|
|
|

It's great as long as you can get a date at times and you're not ready for a serious relationship.

At almost 2 decades now it's getting aged honestly.

Single people can live together and do.
I prefer being in a relationship as long as it’s with the right person. |

|
If I'm in a relationship or living together with a significant other I am no longer single.

there r pros n cons to being single n being married but being a Christian n a human being, I like my own company but having a mate is more satisfying n rewarding than being alone n I guess everyone's definition of being happy or alone is different. in scripture god made woman for man. she was a gift from god n now all men can do is complain about her. to each his own, but for me I don't have to prove to myself that I can make it on my own in this ol'e world, so now I choose to want a mate to have n to hold, to do things with n while mates have to be away from each other for various reasons, there is the time u need or want to do what u want, n to be alone with yrself. me..... I prefer marriage! I don't want to shack up, n that old quote that most guys come up with about trying out the cow before they buy the milk, or u don't buy a horse till u try it out, r just cheap plays to sleep with someone who can't commit to a relationship. that little marriage certificate scares the hell outa some people. love is beautiful n marriage enhances that love. possibly some people r scared to commit to something solid because they've made bad decisions n been badly hurt. it's life. get over it or get on with it. we only have one life in this world. make the most of it n with a new yr ahead, just make better, n wiser choices.

I hate being single, I just can't find a rich woman that wants to live apart, go out a few times a month and vacation together who will marry me.

I’m convinced most people in long-term relationships are actually miserable. You've convinced yourself... It's a nice rationalization for people that can't find a partner. I live a very frugal lifestyle, much like the Amish do. Most people that know me, know me as Mr. Tightwad. I just don't go to a fancy restaurant and spent $10 for a meal. I would rather go for a ride on my 4 wheeler on my wooded acres. Also I am not much of a church going man. To me nature is God. I hate the TV. I am located where there is a lot of elderly people, and just about on a daily basis I spent a few hours helping somebody with whatever their problem may be. I know a lot of elderly people who are not well off financially. There is a lot of financial stress out there, which to me is the main cause of relationship stress. I do a lot of bartering with these people. I don't know what it is but most of these people are rich in junk and poor on cash. I grow a lot of winter greens that I barter for junk. I take the junk to an auction house or scrap metal place and sell it. I sell or trade a pickup load of winter greens on a weekly basis, and a few pickup loads of stuff (junk) every week. Ever notice how some people let their place go because they just can't do the upkeep any more. I am kind of a cheap handi-man. Every week I haul a few loads of metal related junk to the scrap man. The truth is most of these people have let themselves go. I don't have any cats or dogs in the house, but most of them do. One of the worst mistake I ever made was cleaning the animal poop out of a house and then go into a store on my way home. I got stacks of lumber outside under cover that cost me nothing more then my time and gas. |
