Thinking of trying MinglePlus. Is there a chance of encountering "real" people or they only found in the forums?

Everybody, I consider to be a friend on this site, I met through the forums. So I would not recommend M+, as it is just a little add on gimmick.

Do you know if the Bots are union. It seems they all come online about the same 2 or 3 times each day, my Matches suddenly triple then drop back as they all go off-line together.

My match count went to 192 last week, then it fell off to 162. Do I believe any of them? Uhh, no. Since I have money in my savings, I'd like to keep it there.

Out of pure curiosity, I signed onto a pay service just to see what would come up. A month later, I was off. None really work. I suppose, if you're a salesman that can sell the shirt off the customers back to them, then you might have some success. Normal people, hardly.

We'll be heading into the Valentines surge soon. A flurry of tv commercials pitching their service. Remember that Match scheme they pulled a few years ago? "There are this many singles THIS CLOSE to you?"

Lots of members don't participate in the forums... heck most new members don't even know the site has forums. So I say there is a chance of encountering real people outside the forums and all you have to do is do some leg work like searching and sifting through the no-good ones.

Search is free. Messaging is free. Reading profiles is free. And you already know that posting in the forums is free. The Mingle2 freebies are awesome for a free site.

So is MinglePlus worth it? Give it a try. Three months is about $30. For pensioners like me, $30 is a lot of money. But if $30 is chump change to you, then it might be worth it to appease your curiosity.
